Dr. Krepinevich writing award
The Andrew F. Krepinevich Jr. award is given for the best Doctoral Dissertation, Scholarly Monograph, or Book Manuscript by an ASA member on topics such as grand strategy, national security, defense policy, foreign affairs, international history, etc. A distinguished panel of Army Strategists evaluate each submission across five criteria: accessibility, applicability, quality, impact, and authorship. 3 finalist are then sent to a panel of senior officials including Dr. Andrew F. Krepinevich who determine the final winner.
ASA KREPINEVICH BOOK AWARD 2021: ASA will announce the second annual Krepinevich Book Award winner at AUSA in October 2021. Submissions are due by Friday, 16 July 2021. The award recognizes the best Published Book, Book Manuscript, Doctoral Dissertation, or Scholarly Monograph by an FA59, CP60, or ASA member on topics including but not limited to: great power competition, grand strategy, national security, defense policy, foreign affairs, international relations, diplomatic history, international history, and regional studies, etc. The winner will receive a plaque, give a keynote address, and sit on a moderated Q&A panel (topic-dependent) with MG Gericke, among others. ASA exercises a ten-year window for the Krepinevich Award and will consider submissions for any works produced from 2011-2021.
